Nvidia RTX 40 Series SUPER likely to come at CES 2024

Jensen planning to give "SUPER" power to RTX 40 series

Nvidia may launch some new RTX 40 series GPUs at the CES 2024 next year. Most probably, Jensen wants to add some new variants to the existing Nvidia RTX 40 series family, like the “RTX SUPER”. As you all know, we first saw “SUPER” variant graphics cards with RTX 20 series.

The Nvidia RTX 40 series “Ada Lovelace” graphics cards have been with us for over a year. Slotting new “SUPER” cards between different models would not be difficult for Nvidia to give a little refresh to the lineup. However, the “Ti” variant is also present in the RTX 40 series. So, I’m unsure how Nvidia will position its new GPU lineup between “Ti” and “Super”.

Nvidia RTX 40 Series SUPER SKU positioning

Positioning is still confusing, for example – 4070 < 4070 Super < 4070 Ti or 4070 < 4070 Ti < 4070 Super. According to kopite7kimi (rumour) – RTX 4070 Super would be a cut-down variant of RTX 4070 Ti. Overall, there are strong rumours circulating about the RTX 4070 SUPER and RTX 4080 SUPER. So, only time will tell what changes Nvidia will make to make them different and advanced from their regular variants.

The launch date has not been confirmed in any official or unofficial way yet, but reports are indicating the CES 2024 event, which is in January 2024.

Clearing Inventory

Moreover, some reports surfaced that Nvidia has reduced or halted the production of RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4080. Certainly, with this move, the company is making room to sell more of the latest Nvidia RTX 40 series Super graphics cards.

RTX 4090 – top

On the other hand, there are no rumours about new variants of the RTX 4090, like 4090 Ti or SUPER. Additionally, it seems that Nvidia is also not interested in lower-trim 40 series cards like the RTX 4050.
